How experienced is Dr. Sharmilla Anand?
Dr. Sharmilla Anand has more than 30 years of experience in dentistry. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 and has dedicated her career to providing general, family, cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry.
San Marco Smiles was established in 1998 in Jacksonville’s historic San Marco neighborhood. Dr. Anand has also been providing Invisalign treatment since 2004, giving her more than two decades of experience helping patients straighten their smiles with clear aligners.

How much experience does Dr. Anand have with Invisalign?
Dr. Anand has been an Invisalign provider since 2004 and has more than 20 years of experience providing Invisalign treatment.
San Marco Smiles uses advanced 3D imaging technology to help create personalized Invisalign treatment plans. Our iTero digital scanner creates a precise 3D model of your teeth quickly and comfortably.
Patients can schedule a consultation to determine whether clear aligner treatment is appropriate for their smile.
Do you offer dental implants?
Yes. San Marco Smiles provides dental implant treatment for patients who are missing one or more teeth.
Dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth while providing a stable foundation for crowns and other restorations. Dr. Anand can evaluate your oral health and discuss whether dental implants are an appropriate option for you.
Can I get a crown in one appointment?
In many cases, yes. San Marco Smiles uses E4D CAD/CAM technology to create certain crowns and other restorations in the office.
Instead of requiring multiple appointments and a temporary crown, the digital system allows Dr. Anand to design and fabricate restorations in the office. This can reduce the number of appointments required and it starts with a comfortable digital scan.
Dr. Anand will determine whether a same-day restoration is appropriate for your specific tooth.
How do you help patients with dental anxiety?
San Marco Smiles understands that dental anxiety can make it difficult for some patients to receive the care they need.

Can I get emergency dental care?

The practice offers several financing and payment options, including CareCredit, Cherry, and Healthcare Finance Direct (HFD). The team can also help patients understand their insurance benefits and available payment options.

Do you accept my insurance?
San Marco Smiles works with many dental PPO plans. If you have a DHMO plan, you must be assigned to our office before your appointment.
